Indian tech firms need to build their own tech to be cool: Satya Nadella

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said that Indian companies should build their own technologies, which will be "one of the most defining things of the next decade". "Whenever I speak to CEOs in other industries, I always say you'll never be cool by association. Just because you do a press release with us you're not going to be cool," he said.

Jio cut data charges down to ₹12 from ₹300 per GB: Ambani to Satya Nadella

In a conversation with Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella in Mumbai on Monday, Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani said, "Pre Jio, price of per GB data was ₹300-₹500." Ambani added, "For the poorest of poor, who use 2G, the price was as high as ₹10,000 per GB." Ambani claimed that post Jio, the price is between ₹12 and ₹14 a GB.

Wikipedia may shut down if India passes new internet law: Wikimedia Foundation

Wikimedia Foundation, that hosts and operates Wikipedia, has said that it will be difficult to run the company in India once the government decides to pass the new internet regulation law. Wikimedia said that removing content from one country and allowing the same in other ones doesn't fit with Wikipedia's model. Indians visited Wikipedia about 771 million times in 2019.

Trump will see a different India than Clinton or Obama: Mukesh Ambani

While speaking to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, Mukesh Ambani said US President Donald Trump is seeing very different India. "India that Trump will see in 2020 is very different from India that (Bill) Clinton saw or even Obama," he said. "The next generation will see a different India than what you (Nadella) and I have grown up in," he added.

Berkshire Hathaway Chairman Warren Buffett, the world's fourth-richest person, told CNBC that he has permanently stopped using his old flip phone and is using the latest iPhone. The multi-billionaire Apple investor, whose company owns around 5.5% of Apple, was using a $20 Samsung SCH-U320 flip phone for years. He also said that Apple CEO Tim Cook has given him smartphones.

MIT helps self-driving cars navigate in bad weather conditions

An MIT team has developed a way for self-driving cars to navigate through bad weather conditions with the help of Ground Penetrating Radar, which helps map what's beneath the road. Autonomous vehicles can use this map to determine where they are. However, the system doesn't work very well in rainy conditions, when water has seeped into ground below the road.

Julian Assange put lives at risk, says lawyer for United States

A lawyer for the US in Julian Assange's extradition hearing said Assange was wanted in US because he put lives of people who had helped US at risk. He added those people "had put themselves at risk to assist the US and its allies". Assange is fighting extradition from Britain to US where he is accused of espionage and hacking.
