4 Indians test positive for coronavirus on Japan ship, 12 Indians infected now

Four Indian crew members on board the cruise ship in Japan have tested positive for coronavirus, taking the total number of Indians infected with the virus on the vessel to 12. "All 12 Indians are responding well to treatment," the Indian embassy said. A total of 138 Indians were on board the ship when it docked near Tokyo this month.

The customs officials at the Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru seized 5 kg of ephedrine drug concealed in 43 wedding invitation cards. The cards were being sent to Australia, the officials said. On further investigation, the officials also found that the wedding was fictitious and it was only a means to smuggle the drugs worth ₹5 crore.

A video has surfaced which shows an auto-rickshaw driver in Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala slapping and asking for the Aadhaar card from a migrant labourer from West Bengal. The incident took place on Saturday and the migrant man was later identified as 25-year-old Goutam Mandal. The auto driver Suresh was arrested for criminal intimidation and attempt to commit culpable homicide.

Health Ministry seeks to increase legal age for tobacco consumption to 21 yrs

The Health Ministry is mulling to increase the legal age for tobacco consumption from 18 to 21 years. A committee constituted for suggesting legal reforms has submitted its recommendations to the Ministry. The committee has also recommended increasing the fine for violation of rules and introducing a provision of tracking to check illicit trade of tobacco products, an official said.

Nusratullah Warsi, a property dealer, was shot dead on Saturday night at about 10:45 pm. According to police, it appears to be a case of murder due to monetary and property dispute.

3 Delhi policemen see man being stabbed to death from 10m away: Report

A report has claimed that three policemen saw a 31-year-old man being stabbed to death while sitting in a PCR van parked 10 metres away in Delhi on Wednesday. The incident was reportedly recorded in a CCTV camera which showed a policeman coming out of the vehicle, but stepping back after one of the attackers showed him a knife.
