Nirbhaya gangrape and murder convicts won't be hanged tomorrow: Court

A Delhi court on Monday stayed the execution of the four convicts in 2012 Nirbhaya gang rape and murder case until further orders. Earlier, one of the convicts, Pawan Kumar Gupta, had filed a plea to stay the execution as he filed a mercy petition before the President. The convicts were scheduled to be hanged at 6 am tomorrow.

Health Minister Harsh Vardhan on Monday appealed people to contact 24x7 helpline number (+91-11-23978046) for queries related to coronavirus symptoms. The government also shared basic protective measures in regards to coronavirus.

National Conference leader Omar Abdullah was booked under Public Safety Act (PSA) considering his past conduct, J&K administration told Supreme Court on Monday. Calling Abdullah a "very vocal critic" of Article 370 abrogation, Srinagar District Magistrate said his acts were "calculated to disturb public peace". The reply was filed on a plea by Abdullah's sister against his detention.

Bihar Education Department recently suspended teachers who weren't checking answer sheets of intermediate students and among them is name of a person who died two years ago. An order dated February 28, 2020 suspending teachers including deceased Ranjeet Kumar Yadav was released by Begusarai District Education Officer. Yadav was supposed to check copies at a Begusarai centre, said the order.

Government allows airlines to provide in-flight Wi-Fi services in India

The Civil Aviation Ministry has allowed airlines to provide in-flight Wi-Fi services in India. Passengers will be able to access Wi-Fi when their devices are on airplane mode. Telecom Regulatory Authority of India had in 2018 recommended that both Internet, and Mobile Communications on board Aircraft (MCA) service should be permitted as In-Flight Connectivity (IFC) services in Indian airspace.

Seven boys, who had appeared for their Class 10 board examinations, were arrested on Sunday for allegedly raping and killing a 12-year-old girl in Assam, police said. The accused had called the girl to a house on the pretext of organising a party and raped her, a police official said. The girl was hanged from a tree after the crime.

A software engineer killed his wife, 2-year-old and 6-year-old children before committing suicide in Hyderabad. Their bodies were recovered from their house on Monday after neighbours complained that the family hadn't come out of their residence for the last two days. Death toll in northeast Delhi violence rises to 46

The death toll in the northeast Delhi violence last week touched 46 on Monday, with four more fresh deaths reported from Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital. Till now, 38 deaths have been reported from GTB Hospital, three from Lok Nayak Hospital and one from Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital. Police on Sunday dismissed the reports of violence in several parts of Delhi.

98.2% attendance recorded in CBSE board exams in northeast Delhi

The Central Board for Secondary Exams (CBSE) on Monday recorded 98.2% attendance in the board exams held in the violence-hit northeast Delhi. Class 12 and 10 students had their Physics and Music papers on Monday. The CBSE said it's ready to conduct fresh exams for students who are not able to appear for the exams in view of the violence.

Army personnel rescued 111 civilians and 70 vehicles caught in the snow-clad Sela Pass situated atop 14,000 feet in Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday.
