While Sachin's 200* against South Africa in 2010 was the first double hundred in men's ODI cricket, Gayle's 215 against Zimbabwe in 2015 was the first 200-plus score in a World Cup match. Gayle's double hundred is also the fastest for any batsman.

Sachin Tendulkar hit the first-ever ODI double hundred against South Africa on February 24, 2010, in the 2,962nd ODI, 39 years after the first-ever ODI was played. Sachin slammed an unbeaten 200 off 147 balls, hitting 25 fours and 3 sixes. Interestingly, Test cricket's first-ever double hundred had come in the 16th Test, seven years after the first-ever Test.

A video of Quetta Gladiators' 21-year-old batsman Azam Khan running to the crease holding his bat upside down has gone viral on social media. In efforts of saving himself from getting run-out, Azam tried to make his ground with the bat held upside down in his hands in their match against Karachi Kings. He scored 46 runs in the match.

Bangladesh middle-order batsman Mushfiqur Rahim has surpassed opener Tamim Iqbal to become the team's all-time leading run-scorer in Test cricket. Rahim on Monday registered his third double hundred in the longest format of the game to take his Test runs tally to 4413, eight runs more than that of Iqbal. Sachin Tendulkar holds the record of most career Test runs.

UK bans primary school children from heading during football training

Football chiefs in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland on Monday announced a ban on heading in training for children up to the end of primary school. This comes after a study showed former footballers were three-and-a-half times more likely to die of neurodegenerative disease (conditions which affect the neurons in brain). Decision has been taken to "mitigate any potential risks".

Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger said "racism has won" after he was booed during Saturday's 2-1 win against Tottenham Hotspur. It is India's first loss in WTC after winning each of their first seven Tests. He added, "Yes, Kohli and Bumrah aren't in their best form but the openers need to set the game and that didn't happen."
